Oven Roasted Parmesan Cabbage Steaks

In this fall season, many of our Simply Organic Gardens will have cabbage growing. One of our favorite things to make with cabbage is this delicious oven roasted parmesan cabbage steak recipe.

Transform an ordinary cabbage from the garden into a savory side dish by roasting slices, or “steaks”, in the oven until the edges are crisp and golden. Topped with olive oil, salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese – the natural flavors are enhanced, and you have a satisfying side dish in under 30 minutes.

INSTRUCTIONS:

-Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

– Remove any wilted outer leaves from your cabbage. Then, place it stem side down and slice the cabbage into 3/4 inch slices. You should get about 4 large slices/steaks per head of cabbage.

– oil each slice of cabbage with about 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil. Using a pastry brush or a spoon will help spread the oil evenly onto all layers.

-top with salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese to taste.

– pop the cabbage into the over and roast for about 15 minutes per side. You’ll want to flip the cabbage at the 15 minute mark and roast the other side, to ensure a nice golden color on each side.

– ENJOY!! These pair well alongside your favorite protein. You can even drizzle with some balsamic glaze or top with roasted tomatoes to take these steaks to the next level of delicious flavor.
