We have become much more aware in today’s climate of health that many of the foods that we are eating are causing further harm than good. There is so much extra research coming out about all of the additives and chemicals in our foods that are making us sick and a much less version of true selves. How do we combat that? We start fueling our bodies with foods that are healing, healthy and will make us feel better. Which in turn will improve our minds and body as a whole. There are many foods that CAUSE disease, so combat that by getting more educated on the foods that PREVENT and in many cases, help in CURING diseases.
Leafy greens are extremely beneficial and should be a central part of your food intake. They are important for brain function, as well as being full of micronutrients and phytochemical. Green butter crunch, red butter crunch, romaine lettuce, dinosaur kale, blue curly kale, sorrel, swish chard, dandelion greens, mustard greens, sisso spinach, savoy spinach, arugula astro, broccoli micro-greens and kalefetti mix micro-greens are excellent examples of resonant greens to help your body.
Mushrooms, all types, are extraordinary, especially with cancer prevention. They are very potent and if eaten regularly, even just 1 mushroom a day, you can drop your chances of breast cancer by 64%. Sautéed mushrooms as a side or even raw ones on a salad are delicious ways to get these foods to work in our bellies!

Make your own nut mix and take it with you.. it not only curbs appetites but also kills cravings for less healthy foods on the road. Or better yet, add them to leafy greens and blueberries and you have a cancer fighting, brain boosting, body healing salad!
A few things to avoid when reaching your peak health vibrancy are sugar and processed meats & factory farmed meat products. Sugar products like high fructose corn syrup and added sugars go straight to the liver, trigger obesity, diabetes and are associated with higher rates of heart disease, cancer and dementia. Sugar is a processed food that our body cannot handle. Interesting fact is that roughly 50% of our sugar intake in recent times is from beverages. Soda, Sports drinks, libations, coffees and sweetened teas. An easy step to take to eliminate sugar is to start with cutting back or getting rid of sugary drinks first! Processed meats are a well known carcinogen. Factory farming is an inhumane practice that produces inflammatory meat. It is designed to make animals as fat as possible and as quickly as possible. When you ingest meat from an obese animal it not only causes obesity but it can cause emotional irregular cells to enter our body and create depression and anxiety. You are what you eat!
A few easy positive changes you can make NOW are to identify the worst offenders in your kitchen and kick them to the curb. Replace them with something you can enjoy thats good for you!
